How to make soap that is cheap and works great.

First gather up your ingredients

1/3 Bar of Fels Naptha laundry Bar Soap (grated)
1/2 Cup of 20 Mule Team Borax Laundry Booster
1/2 Cup Arm & Hammer Washing Soda
1 5 Gallon Bucket with lid

Next

Mix Grated Fels Naptha Soap with 6 cups of water in sauce pan, heat until soap melts.

The finer grating melts better.

It's important to get as much of this melted as you can in order for it to gel up appropriately.

Next step is Add washing Soda and Borax to Sauce Pan Mix. Mix Well until Washing Soda and Borax Dissolve.

Pour 4 cups of Hot Water into Bucket and add mixture from sauce pan.

Add another 1 gallon 6 cups of water and stir well.
Allow 24 hours for soap to gel.
Use 1/2 a cup of soap per load, recipe produces approximately 50 loads.

Kepp the soap and ingredients out of reach of children and keep bucket sealed when soap is not in use. A Double recipe may be produced with the 5 gallon bucket.

When it's ready I put some in an old Detergent bottle. I made this batch about 3 weeks ago and I'm still using whats in the bucket, I haven't touched whats in the bottle.

I have sensitive skin but this has never caused me to break out and as an added bonus you can use the borax and washing soda for other household cleaning uses.

Forever

Well it has been a long and I mean LONG time since I have blogged. It's not that I show this to anyone either but I just thought of this place and thought I would revisit.
I think this will be a great place to show pictures from my everyday life.
I've been addicted to Hipstamatic for the iPhone and it has helped me create awesome photos like this one.
The hubby and I hit the Indianapolis Museum of Art. I enjoy the Renaissance art and my favorite french Impressionism. For a laugh we hit contemporary art and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that there are really amazing pieces whose purpose is to get you to think and discuss. For instance this is a crazy sculpture of paper pom poms that ended up looking like Bucky Balls from a physics experiment gone bad. Had a great time and hopefully I'll be able to share more like these.

Bambi

I never realized how cool Bambi was until I got up close and personal with them. I learned alot about these graceful creatures and the business that involves them. Genetics is a HUGE important part of it. Basically the goal is to create the biggest, superbeing, powerful deer that this planet has ever seen. Sheez now that I think about it, I could of been eaten by one of these monsters.

The UN should run like the farm

It's amazing to me how well everyone and everything gets along together on a farm. Granted once in a while there is a squirmish (dogs vs. cats or dogs vs. chickens). Even with these short squirmishes peaces still exists amongst everyone at the end of the day. Now why can't the UN or the whole world for that matter run like this. Think about it natural predators co-existing together in one community able to get over disputes and move on.
Well today I had a very Suess inspired lunch. I had a hard boiled green egg and some ham. It didn't hit me until after a couple of bites did I realize, Whoa. Green eggs and ham.

I am happy to report that Josh is now the proud parent of new baby chicks, turkeys, and ducks. I will try to take pictures of their progress since this whole farm life is new to me. Josh did inform me that one turkey has passed on. I've learned not to name animals I can eat because it would be very hard to consume them. Right now there is a cow I like to play around with, who will occasionally lick my hand. He is number 8 according to his tag and that is what I call him. All I want is for him to plump up so that he can be my steak. So number 8 it is.
